About the 2018 Summer Program
The Stokes Summer Enrichment Program runs July 2 through July 27, 2018. The program day is from 9:00 AM. to 3:00 PM., and before care and breakfast are available beginning at 8:30 AM for no additional cost.
There is a sliding scale cost for Stokes scholars from $800-$1000 for the four week program. The After Care Program runs from 3:00 PM to 6:00PM at an additional cost of $250 for the entire program.
For non-Stokes scholars there is a flat fee of $1,000, and after care is an additional $250. There is no cost for before care. The program is limited to a maximum of 13 students per class, and spaces will be filled on a first come first serve basis.

Music

Language Immersion
French Summer Enrichment Class (Available to pre-k through 2nd graders)
This class is designed for students in our French program. Students will enjoy literacy and
math in French. They will improve their French by being engaged in fun activities such as
cooking, music and art. Fieldtrips will definitely be part of the French Summer Enrichment
Class!
Spanish Summer Enrichment Class (Available to pre-k through 2nd graders)
This class is designed for students in our Spanish program. Students will enjoy literacy and
math in Spanish. They will engage in fun activities such as cooking, music and art, all in
Spanish. Fieldtrips will also be part of the Spanish Summer Enrichment Class!
Science
Science Summer Enrichment Class (Two classes available: 1st and 2nd grades, and 3rd- 5th grades)
This is a challenging, hands-on science class with the objective of turning our young scholars
into young scientists. They will learn about the steps of the scientific method, enter into the
world of micro-organisms using microscopes, and conduct experiments that give a scientific
explanation for everyday phenomena. Science-related field trips will also be included.


Cooking
Wellness and Cooking Class (Available to current 3rd- 5th graders)
This class is designed to teach kids the ins and outs of the kitchen. The will learn about healthy
eating, safe food handling, proper techniques, safety in the kitchen, how to prepare foods from
different cultures, and proper etiquette at the table. There will be a writing and research
component this class.
Photography
Photography & Creative Expression Class (Available to current 4th and 5th graders)
This class is designed to help students develop a creative eye and express themselves
through photography. They will learn about angles, composition, lighting, photo editing, and
most important they will learn how to capturing life’s special moments and making them last a
lifetime.
