EVERETT RICHARDSON
Director of Special Education Services
Though Everett joined Stokes as a learning specialist in 2014, he has been a part of the Stokes family for years, as his oldest son is a former student. Originally from Lansing, Michigan, Everett grew up in New Haven, CT, and Largo, MD. He graduated from Howard University with a degree in Communications. He entered the field of education straight out of college, while completing additional coursework and earning Special Education Certification. He later earned a Masters Degree in Leadership and School Administration from Trinity University. Everett has been in education for over 17 years beginning as a teacher’s assistant and quickly becoming a teacher, head teacher, Associate Director, and finally Director at a private special education school.
In addition to his work as an educator, Everett is also a photographer, and videographer. He also works with youth in the areas of media and social justice. He has been the Director of Photography on several projects including public service announcements for a major news network, music videos, a documentary, and an off-Broadway play. Everett enjoys music and the arts, traveling, sports, and spending time with his family.
