Sajela Harlow, a recent graduate of Howard University, grew up in the town of Aurora, Illinois. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree summa cum laude in Elementary Education, she is excited to begin her first year of her teaching career and eager to bring the skills she has accumulated from her various collegiate experiences into her new classroom.
Some of these experiences include interning and teaching with Uncommon Schools in Camden, New Jersey, attending annual leadership conferences in New York as a Jackie Robinson Scholar, completing her student teaching at both E.W. Stokes and Mundo Verde (both of which are D.C. bilingual charter schools), and working/volunteering with students in Havana, Cuba. A recent member, Academic All-American and MVP of the Howard University Women’s Tennis team, Sajela incorporates hard work, dedication and passion both on the court and in the classroom.
