Currently, the Elsie Whitlow Stokes Community Freedom Public Charter School enrolls 250 students from kindergarten through Sixth Grade. But demand for the quality of education we provide is overwhelming. We serve the entire Washington, DC school system with no tuition or fees. Parents from every neighborhood are looking for schools like ours. Bursting at the seams, we need a new building.
More funding would provide us that and mean more children in the District would get a quality, well-rounded education. Space is also needed for activities, such as indoor and outdoor athletics, music, art, school assemblies, a library and special events, like our annual Holidays Around the World Festival and Potluck Dinner.
We’re seeking funds for particular programs, as well, such as a school orchestra and a science lab. Until now, we’ve used our creativity to come up with solutions off-site to meet many of our enrichment goals, but with our success come even greater need.
Donors like you could make a world of difference. |
